Modern civilization

We can't deny the cultural and social advancement up to the present. But I fail to find anything representative that can outshine those in the past. In the intellectual field, can anyone in the modern era oust Confucius in thinking or Wang Xizhi in calligraphy As for the buildings and sculptures, what can we leave to our descendants which can match up to the Great Wall and the Terracotta Army of our national heritageWith regard to morality, it has degraded to an unprecedented level. You may retort me by presenting the advanced modern technology in telecommunication and medical treatment. Don't we often notice that people chat away by phone Don't you think the poisonous environment a scratching satire on the medical worldSo I'm puzzled whether our civilization is progressive or retrogressive.
